A closer look...

Project management is the discipline of planning, organising, managing, leading and controlling resources and personnel to achieve specific goals. A project is an endeavour with a defined beginning and end ( usually constrained by time, funding/budget or deliverables), undertaken to meet unique goals and objectives typically to bring about beneficial change or added value. The primary challenge of project management is to achieve all of the project goals and objectives while honouring the constraints. The secondary (and more ambitious) challenge is to optimise the allocation of necessary inputs and integrate them to meet pre-defined objectives.

The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a standard for IT services best practices that is widely adopted across the globe. This course series will cover all of the knowledge needed for the exam for the ITIL Foundation Certificate, which demonstrates your knowledge and mastery of the ITIL system. Practice exams are also included, which will provide in-depth instructional feedback on each question to thoroughly cover every subject you'll need to master such as Service Management, Key Principles and Models and Technology and Architecture.

Prince2 is aimed at project managers and is designed to teach you the do's and don'ts of managing successful projects using the PRINCE2 method, currently the worlds most popular project management framework, giving you the skills to feel confident in managing projects successfully within the workforce. Using PRINCE2 in your projects will give you common systems, procedures and language. It provides you with greater control of resources, and the ability to manage business and project risk more effectively.

The Project Management Institute (PMI) offers a professional credential for project managers, known as the Project Management Professional (PMP). PMI’s professional credentialing examination development processes stand apart from other project management certification examination development practices. PMI aligns its process with certification industry best practices, such as those found in the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing.

Agile Project Management, developed in partnership with DSDM Consortium, offers a practical and repeatable methodology that achieves an ideal balance between the standards, rigour and visibility required for good project management; and the fast pace, change and empowerment provided by agile.
